About
I’m Melissa (she/her). My approach to brand strategy is intentional and empathy-based.

I’ve been in brand marketing since the early 2000s. While I was at the end of my double degree, I was chomping at the bit to get to work and secured myself a job in my then home town of Brisbane, as a marketing assistant at Parmalat (now Lactalis), the world’s largest (and family-owned) dairy company. I had the privilege of working across almost the entire portfolio of milk and beverage brands, including two of the four strategic pillar brands IceBreak and OAK.
After 9 years at Parmalat, I’d reached Senior Brand Manager level and was looking for my next opportunity, which was at (then) Campbell Arnott’s in Sydney. I started out on the crispbread portfolio, managing Vita-Weat and Cruskits. Then I moved across to manage the Campbell’s Soup portfolio. To have worked on such iconic brands in some of the most competitive categories provided me with the foundation I still apply in my work today.

You’re not supposed to have favourites, but of all the brand campaigns I led, this one was the most fun…
But wait, there’s more
When I’m not focusing on brand strategy, my work spans other areas, including sustainability education and governance. As a values-aligned professional with the blinkers off, working with me means you also benefit from this additional insight and strategic depth.
- Systems thinking – ability to see how macro trends interact and are likely to affect your business in the years to come
- Ethical marketing advocate – a strong stance on what constitutes a healthy approach to marketing, without shame and manipulation
- Sustainability educator – an understanding of ESG and the risks presented by climate change and biodiversity loss
